Disgraced ex-cop Ted Conkaffey is falsely accused of a disturbing crime and retreats to the wilds of Far North Queensland, hoping to disappear from public scrutiny. There, he crosses paths with an eccentric private investigator with a criminal past, who draws him into a new case: the disappearance of a Korean tech pioneer in the remote and unpredictable landscape.
