In 1870s London, a group of young American women arrives for the social season with a clear purpose: to secure husbands, titles, and a place in society. Spurred by their friend Conchita’s whirlwind marriage to Lord Richard Marable, the nouveau riche daughters of the St. George and Elmsworth families enter a world of strict rules, old traditions, and uneasy Anglo-American culture clash.
