Broke, newly single and feeling out of step with her life, Nell Serrano returns to the newspaper career she left behind 10 years ago. The only job available is writing obituaries, but the assignment comes with an unexpected twist: Nell begins receiving advice from the spirits of the people she is tasked with memorializing, forcing her to face the messy restart she has been avoiding.
