Socially inept 17-year-old cinephile Lawrence Kweller takes a job at a video store, bringing his intense love of movies into a new and unfamiliar workplace. As he adjusts to the routines and social demands of the store, he develops a complicated friendship with his older female manager, creating a relationship shaped by awkwardness, connection, and the boundaries between them.
