When 18-year-old Sage faces an unplanned pregnancy, she turns to Elle Reid, her sharp-tongued, self-described misanthrope grandmother, for help. Elle, long estranged from her own daughter, has built a protective life around herself, but Sage’s arrival breaks through it.
